Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus cinnamomum. It is an aromatic condiment and flavoring additive in different cuisines, sweets, breakfast cereals, snack foods and tea.
It is one of the delicious spice on the planet. It has a long history of use in traditional medicine for digestive system.
Cinnamon has been recommended in diabetics to improve insulin sensitivity.
From 2003 onward nearly 20 clinical trials were conducted in diabetics which showed a modest reduction in blood sugar. But compiling of results from these trials it was concluded that there is no enough evidence of its efficacy in diabetics.
